This photo was taken by Alex V. of a very special and personal moment. I will leave it to the photographer to share the story behind the photo if he so chooses. For me, it is a very good representation of Portland style, color and culture.
World Cup Coffee & Tea loves the community we serve and in turn support us. Portland is a fantastic place to live and work. A large part of our city’s appeal is the beauty that can be found in its design, culture and environment. We know that several of our neighbors see this same beauty and tend to capture it on film. We at World Cup would love to see these pictures and want to share them with our coffee and tea drinking friends.

This shot comes from a block party held on the 17th of this month to honor of a late friend, Sarah Jennings, who passed away in March of brain cancer. There is a lot of her in this photo, actually. That band in the background was Sarah's last, and the girl sitting in front bears an uncanny resemblance to her. The dancing mother and daughter are practically facsimilies of Sarah and her mother Karen. The Tibetan prayer flags set a tone of celebration and remembrance for a fantastic person who always lived her life with a finger on the pulse.
But this photo also captures a nice vision of Southeast Portland in the summertime, and I think it's worth a lot. Enjoy!
